From what I understand, amnio is usually done later in pregnancy and around 19 weeks is still within the timing doctors may offer depending on why more testing is needed, but since you already had one earlier and got an abnormal result, I honestly wouldn’t decide based on other mums’ experiences alone. If I were in your shoes, I would ask my gynae or genetic counsellor very directly what the first result means, why they recommend a second amnio, and what information this one will change for decision making. Don’t be afraid to ask all your questions and even ask them to explain in simple language because this is a big thing and you deserve to feel clear before deciding.
