Is it safe to eat ampalaya?

My relatives told me not to eat ampalaya.. I don't know why maybe because it's bitter or there are contraindications. They haven't answered why..

Yan po prescription ng doctor ko since lowblood ako. Atleast 2x a week kmain ng ampalaya.
