Honestly, labor can still start kahit hindi pa fully dilated ang cervix, the contractions themselves will gradually open it, so it's possible talaga na mag-start kahit closed pa, pero usually the body gives signs muna like show or water breaking. A few of us bumili moms sa circle namin experienced labor starting with contractions na steady even when the cervix wasn't ready yet, kaya hindi mo dapat mag-panic if that's what you're hearing from your OB right now.
