Hi, momshie! I have gestational diabetes and my OB referred me to an IM specialist and for the first few weeks, strict diet and exercise ginawa ko (walking for at least 30 minutes every day). I also monitor my bood sugar level 4 times a day. After 4 months (of strict diet talaga), normal na yung blood sugar level ko so I don’t have to go back na kay IM specialist. After ko manganak na lang daw ako bumalik but she still said na i monitor ko ang blood sugar level ko. I shifted from white rice to brown rice and water na lang talaga yung iniinom ko (up to 3 liters per day). Kaya natin to!

Hi, momshies! I agree with you all. According to my IM specialist, even if mawala yung GD ko after manganak, at risk ako magkaroon ng type 2 diabetes in the future. Plus, paglabas ni baby pwedeng magkaroon sya ng problem sa blood sugar level nya, not to mention, baka sumobra yung laki nya sa tummy ng mom. Per my OB ito yung mga (as much as possible) dapat iwasan: -white rice -bread -crackers -pasta/pancit -milk tea -chocolates/cakes/cupcakes/donuts -soda -fruits with high glycemic index (e.g. mango, watermelon) Para hindi ka mabigla sa change ng diet mo, try portioning and eating often pero pakonti konti lang. Try to snack on nuts (like almonds) para hindi ka magutom. Lahat dapat ng icoconsume ay in moderation. :) And pinaka importante is to drink lots of water. Hope this helps!
