My one-year-old daughter has an upset stomach. Should I give her probiotics such as yakult?

Is she having pain? Yakult is not effective to treat stomach pain as the good bacteria content is minimal and it's very sweet. http://afcoaching.com.au/blogs/blog/39799041-11-reasons-to-avoid-yakult-and-other-probiotic-drinks My daugther has upset stomach twice and we feed probiotics and not effective at all. Both times, we brought her to A&E as the pain is unbearable. PD prescribed debridat and she recovered.

You can probably give probiotics (see a PD for it, or find over-the-counter ones that are suitable for her age!), I wouldn't advise Yakult/Vitagen even for adults because it's loaded with sugar (or sugar substitutes for the "low-sugar" ones) and hardly contains anything good.

Actually the last time my daughter had an upset tummy, we asked doctor whether it’s good to give yakult. He said we should avoid giving it when the child has upset tummy. Instead he gave us lactobacillus powder.

i would suggest you to give home-made curd instead of yakult to your child. Also check for pro-biotics for the good bacteria consumption as a medication.

Hi... you might find this article informative https://sg.theasianparent.com/10-commandments-dealing-diarrhoea-kids

I will give those probiotics powder instead of yakult. Those probiotics powder contain more probiotics in it.

I would give probiotics instead of yakult as the concentration of probiotics in yakult is very little

Yakult also contains a fair bit of sugar so you can try BioGaia for kids instead.
