It is possible that your newborn may be going through a growth spurt. While each baby may go through growth spurts at different periods, the common ones seemed occur at: 1-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3rd month, 6th month and 9th month. The common signs that your baby is going through a growth spurt are: - increased hunger: your baby may seemed hungrier than usual - night waking: your baby may have more frequent night waking and will readily feed Growth spurts usually last for 2-3 days, but could also go up to a week. Drink more fluid and eat more to help keep up your supply for your baby. Get as much rest as you could. I don't think is grow spurt. A newborn's stomach is v small and they don't drink a lot at one go. Hence, for many newborns, they tend to feed every hourly and if you are bf, which is more diluted than fm, it is easily digested. Newborns poo fast and get hungry all over again. As they grow older, their stomach grows bigger and able to hold their hunger better.
