Must breastfed babies be burped? Or just bottle?

My baby is exclusively breastfed and right up till the day I started working last week, I latched her directly about 90% of the day. Breastfed babies definitely need to be burped. I latch her lying down sideways and when she finishes her milk, I sit her up and she often gives out a loud burp. Sometimes it's so loud, we can't believe it came from such a little human. It may seem unlikely, but somehow air still gets inside when they are feeding. Do burp them after their feeds. If you're bottle feeding, get a bottle with an anti colic system, such as MAM or Dr Brown as you can literally hear the air escaping from their bottles. This ensures that your baby doesn't take in as much air as she would normally do with a standard bottle.
