I didn’t use a doula myself, but honestly I can see why some mums find it helpful. 😊
Even if you’re planning for a medicated birth or are open to a C-section, a doula isn’t only for natural births. From what I’ve heard from friends, they help a lot with emotional support, explaining what’s happening, and keeping both mum and partner calm during labour.
Personally, if budget allows, I think the extra support can be quite valuable because childbirth and the postpartum period can be overwhelming. We’re already exhausted physically and emotionally, and having someone experienced to guide and reassure you sounds like a big help.
That said, many mums also do perfectly fine without a doula, especially if they have a supportive partner and care team. 😊 Ultimately depends on what kind of support you’re hoping for during the birth journey. ❤️
