Baby movement at 19 weeks

Hi mums to be, I just hit my 19 weeks mark today and I still have yet to feel any kicks or baby movements even when I place my hands on my belly and lower part of belly no movements can be felt internally or from the hand placement… I’m a first time mum, is this normal? Also I start to feel my body getting heaty and that my heart rate seems to be faster than usual… is this normal? I’ll be going for my gender scan next week, and it’s been a month since I saw the scan of baby… do I need to worry?

At 19 weeks with a first pregnancy, you might not feel movements yet, especially if this is your first time and you're not sure what to look for, so that's pretty normal. The faster heart rate and feeling warm are also common in pregnancy due to hormonal changes and increased blood volume, but it's definitely worth mentioning to your doctor at your next appointment or even calling your PD beforehand just to check in and put your mind at ease. A month between scans is standard, so baby should be developing fine, and your gender scan next week will give you that reassurance and a fresh update. Try not to worry too much in the meantime, but do speak to your doctor about the heart rate changes as well since they'll want to know.
