Breastfeeding

BF at hospital

Hi Mummies, am wondering if there will be leakage in the other breast if we do DL for baby in hospital? Do we need haaka pump to collect the milk/colustrum from the other breast during DL? But i am worried if we can feed the baby with the colostrum collected in the Haaka as it is so viscous, maybe not suitable to put it to bottle to feed afterwards. How do you all manage??

No leakage for me during DL in the hospital, the initial first few days don’t have so much to leak(including colostrum also didn’t leak, LO managed to latch on) but enough for newborn LO. After couple of days or a week, the supply kicks in more that was when the other breast will leak when latching on the other side.
