Aiyoh, I totally understand lah, some of us just want our kids to have a bit more structure before P1! My friend sent her daughter to MindChamps and said the curriculum is quite structured and academic-focused, got proper phonics, numeracy, all that, though she did mention the fees are on the higher side, so must weigh properly. A few mums I know also top up with external enrichment like Heguru or CMA on weekends even if the preschool is already quite academic, just to cover all bases, so that's another way to go if your neighbourhood preschool doesn't tick all the boxes. Honestly some mums swear by the more academic approach, but a couple did say their kids got a bit burnt out, so maybe look for one that balances structured learning without being too intense lah. My take is, visit a few, see the classroom setup, whether got open concept or proper enclosed classrooms, then feel out the teaching style yourself before committing!
