When we start producing milk?

Hi mummies, please advice me as a first time mom when we start producing milk. I am 23 weeks now. There are changes in the size of my breasts and nipple. I heard after you give birth then youll start producing but at the same time youll able to start pumping beforehand. I am doubting my ability to produce milk too so i need some assurance 🥹 #firsttimemom #pumping #milk

Currently your breasts are filling up with milk but if you wanna collect (colostrum), best to wait till after week 37 as it can trigger unwanted early labour. Unless you’re blessed with super good supply, else usually at the start, the supply is low but don’t doubt yourself. It took me one month before I could pump just enough for my baby every feed, subsequently, my supply went up over the months and I managed to have my own spare stash too! Just remember after you give birth, eat/drink well, rest well and most importantly don’t stress as it can affect your supply. Pump/latch frequently and do not skip sessions even when baby sleeps past feeding time. 😊
