Delivery suite

Hi mummies, do we need to book our delivery room before giving birth? I overheard a conversation while waiting for my checkup at the hospital. Is there a need to book the delivery room? As i thought we may have an edd but it’s not exactly a fixed date. More like a first come first serve kind right?
