Delivery suite

Hi mummies, do we need to book our delivery room before giving birth? I overheard a conversation while waiting for my checkup at the hospital. Is there a need to book the delivery room? As i thought we may have an edd but it’s not exactly a fixed date. More like a first come first serve kind right?

Not sure which hospital you’ll be giving birth at but I gave birth at TMC. Didn’t book delivery room, just go down and was brought up to labour ward then when it’s time they will wheel to delivery room. For your hospital stay, you’ll have to let them know which room you’re choosing during admission (my husband went down to do while I’m in labour ward). I chose single bedder but when I was done, there wasn’t any room so they gave me a suite till there’s an available bed of my initial choice. For rooms wise, I think it’s the same across most hospitals, choose upon day of labour.

Maybe depends on which hospital u go to. I’m will be delivering at Mt E Nov and my gynae asked me to book. They will give the admission form and everything and advise you accordingly. If you not sure can check with your gynae.
