Subsidies but possible to see private dr for HL?

Hi Mummies, this is for mummies who are taking subsidies, do any of you have ever seen a private dr at kk aside from your appt? I've tried to go kk del suite to req for HL as im having bad heartburn, swollen feet and its affecting my sleep at night every single day. Ive only managed to sleep about 2-3 hours. As it affect my sleeping routine, it is also affecting my body to be healthy enough to work and my jobscope is an infant educarer. The dr only managed to give me 3 days HL as was adviced to take flu meds to help me w the sleep but it doesnt, ive tried massage, elevate my legs and even wear the socks compression but nothing helps to ease. Any advice on this or any subsidies mummies tried to see a private dr at kk for hl?

I totally understand how frustrating that must be, especially with your job requiring you to be on your feet with the babies. Honestly, you can see a private doctor even while on subsidies at KKH, though you'll pay out of pocket for that visit, but some mums find it worth it if they need a second opinion or feel they need more support with something specific like this. Since the 3 days isn't cutting it and the heartburn and swelling are really affecting your sleep and work, might be good to push back at your next KKH appt and really emphasize how much it's impacting your ability to function, or consider going private just to explore other options like different medication or specialist referral. The combination of heartburn, swelling and sleep loss during pregnancy does sound like it needs more investigation, so don't hesitate to advocate for yourself here.
