Gestational diabetes
Hi mummies, I am feeling quite sad when I get to know I have GDM. Wasn't really expecting this cos this is my 3rd pregnancy and didn't encounter it when I had my other two. Any tips/encouragement to share? Thank you!☹️

Oh I'm so sorry you're going through this, it can feel quite overwhelming when you weren't expecting it, especially since you didn't have it before. The good news is that managing it well during pregnancy is totally doable and lots of mums have been through this successfully, so don't lose heart. A few of my mum friends who had GDM said the dietary changes weren't as drastic as they feared, and their babies turned out perfectly fine. Your gynae or polyclinic will give you a meal plan and likely refer you to a dietitian who can make it work for your lifestyle, so you're not alone in this journey. Be kind to yourself during this time, and remember it's temporary and you're doing everything right for your baby.
Read moredon't feel like it's your fault at all! do remember that gdm happens purely because of hormones. don't stress out on your diet- continue to eat whatever you and baby wants. just in moderation!
