Ascites noted in fetal abdomen

I know a couple of mums who've had similar findings during pregnancy, fetal ascites and extra fluid, and honestly, the outcomes have been quite mixed, which I think is important to know. Some resolved on their own by the third trimester with no issues at all, while others needed closer monitoring and a few ended up with interventions at birth, but their babies are doing fine now. The key thing most of them said was that the specialist scans every few weeks really helped them understand what was happening and what to expect, so they weren't just sitting in worry. Since your NIPT came back low risk, that's a genuinely good sign, but definitely stay in close touch with your specialist about what the next scans show, because sometimes these findings change as pregnancy progresses. I’ve seen stories where findings at the 20-week scan needed closer monitoring and the outcome turned out better than initially expected, so try not to lose hope while waiting for more answers.
