In my experience, the last thing you'd want to do is to have a screaming match with a toddler having a tantrum, haha! But I understand how exhausting it can be. Try speaking to them in a low, firm voice. This is WAY more effective than yelling; it calms them down and forces them to lower the volume of their own voice. They tend to mimic your tone even if they don't realize it.

At home, practice low tone of conversation whether to your spouse, your in-laws, helpers etc.

The best thing to do is tell yourself "this, too, shall pass." LOL. Your kid, especially if a toddler, may have just recently discovered his capability of raising his voice. For your kid, it may have been fun, or may have been a way to get whatever he wants. I suggest you try to stay calm and never let it get the best of you.
