My mom told me that when she was younger, she's always sickly. My grandparents were bothered and changed her name and afterwards her health is better. Same situation with my friend. Is it possible that there's a scientific explanation behind this "pamahiin"?

Scientifically speaking, I cannot see any correlation between names and health so I think it's just a folklore we use to believe :) maybe it's just a placebo effect or just a plain coincidence.
