MMR Vaccine is available in our Brgy. Health Center. I had my Baby Skye vaccinated as protection against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (German Measles). It is a free vaccine provided by the government given to children in certain age ranges.
Children get the MMR vaccine by injection in 2 doses:
1. at age 12–15 months
2. at age 4–6 years
Also, older children can get the vaccine if they didn't get it when they were younger. Sometimes doctors give MMR in combination with the chickenpox vaccine in a vaccine called MMRV.
MMR vaccine (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) is recommended because these are infections that can lead to serious illnesses. More than 95% of children who get the MMR vaccine will be protected from the three diseases throughout their lives.
I firmly believe that vaccines help save lives. Let us continue giving our family protection from vaccine-preventable diseases. Ask your Brgy. Health Workers in your area for available vaccines which you can get for free. With vaccine and discipline, we can prevent them from spreading to our community.
