newborn screening

hi mga mamshie... ask ko lang po. preterm ko kasi nilabas si baby..and then before naman kami madischarge nagawa yung newborn screening niya.. then after a month pinapabalik kami ulit for repeat ng newborn since preterm si baby.. pero hindi na kami nakabalik dahil naglockdown..tapos surge pa ng covid kaya natakot ako ibalik si baby sa hosp..ngayon 8 mos na si baby and medio mababa na din cases ng covid...is it ok pa ba na ipa newborn ko pa sya kahit hindi na sya newborn? advise please...thank you.

Ay mama, I think you should bring your baby in soon talaga, the repeat newborn screening is really important para sa preterm babies kasi there are certain conditions na mas mabilis mag-develop or kailangan ma-catch early pa. A few of us mums had similar concerns about timing, pero better late than never talaga, especially with newborn screening because it's about their health long-term. I know you were scared during the surge, pero cases are better now kaya go na, call the hospital and schedule it, okay? Your pediatrician can also advise if there's anything specific to watch for while you wait.
