The fact that they're not regular, not getting longer or closer together, and only lasting a few minutes sounds like practice contractions lah, but honestly at 39 weeks plus you should really call your doctor or midwife just to confirm, they can check if there's any changes happening down there and give you proper peace of mind. A few of my mum friends said their doctors actually preferred they come in to check rather than guess, especially when you're unsure!
