8-9mnths baby

My lo refuse to.open her mouth in the evening, and will cry if i force or trick her to open her mouth.. and she will spit back the food and will cry out loud. Only happen in the evening.. last solid food will be at 3pm.. can i skip the evening meal and give more milk instead?
