Tofu??

Hi my lo is 7mths 3weeks. can she eat silken tofu??? the last time i gave her to "test" some she vomited and went to kkh but I told doctor about letting baby trying tofu for the 1st time. he said the vomiting was caused by a virus not tofu. but I google online articles say tofu only can be given to 8mths old???
