Ay, maternity benefits talaga ang stress! Honestly, I'd follow up directly with SSS kasi two months na, usually ma-approve within 30 days lang, so something might be held up sa system mo. Call them or go in person if kaya mo, sometimes the email notification gets lost kahit approved na, tapos surprised ka nalang may benefits na. Your employer doesn't have to wait for SSS email to act on their end though, they usually process once you've submitted your application; I'd also ask HR directly kung may records na sila ng approval.
