Vertigo/headache/migraine
Hi! I've been having very very bad headache since my first tri up to now abt 18 weeks. Gp said vertigo. Hosp just gve panadol. I can't cope 😫 anyone experienced this before? Often feels like fainting. Like my brain can't handle slightest stuffs...

Aiyoh, I really feel for you lah, when I was around 16 weeks with my second, the headaches were so bad I was just lying in bed with a pillow over my face, couldn't even watch TV! So I totally understand that "brain cannot cope" feeling, it's so draining especially when the hospital just gives you Panadol and send you home like that. My neighbour actually went to see a neurologist, a specialist at a private clinic, because her GP also couldn't do much, and the doctor diagnosed her with vestibular migraine during pregnancy and gave her a proper management plan instead of just pain relief; she said it made such a big difference to finally have someone take it seriously. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned that simple things like lying in a dark, quiet room, staying really well hydrated, and putting a warm or cold compress on the back of your neck actually helped take the edge off when the dizzy spells hit, nothing cures it but at least makes it more bearable. A few mummies also swore by acupuncture, said it helped with the vertigo and tension headaches, and apparently it's generally considered safe during pregnancy, though of course you want to go to a proper certified practitioner lah. Do please check with your own gynae or ask for a referral to a neurologist though, because every pregnancy is different and you deserve more than just Panadol, take care of yourself, jia you!
