Is it normal for milk supply to drop while you're having your period?

Yupp. Due to hormonal changes brought about by your period, milk supply will drop slightly. You might also notice cyclical decrease in milk supply before your period returns, as your body begins its return to fertility. You can help to increase milk supply during your period by: 1) Taking magnesium/calcium supplements. The drop in milk supply that is associated with your period can be associated with a drop in blood calcium levels which occurs in the middle of your menstrual cycle, around the time that you ovulate. 2) Oatmeal is known to have increased milk supply in menstruating breastfeeding mothers.
