How to train 16mth to self feed

Im trying to get my 16mth to learn to self feed himself.. but he always play with the food n doesnt really know how to get the food into the spoon...

try giving him pre-loaded spoons first. can perhaps give him some scooping play as well. at infant care the teacher let my LO eat with the Chinese soup spoon, i realise it's easier for them to scoop so we stopped using all the baby spoons😅
