Can husband accompany wife during labour

Hi all, I'm a foreign spouse & will be giving birth in Malaysia for the first time...As this is my first pregnancy (trying for many yrs), I would like my husband to be with me during labour, so we can go through this precious process together & other reason is because I cant speak/understand BM very well yet...I understand during Covid period, husbands are not allowed to be with the wife...But how about now? Can husband be with the wife during labour? I will be giving birth at General Hospital Penang... Any new mothers had just given birth there to share the experience? Thank you!

Hospital Penang's labour ward directly and ask them specifically about their current partner policy, since things have loosened up post-Covid but each hospital has their own rules. A few of us in my mum group have given birth at different hospitals here, and most allow husbands in now, but it's worth confirming early so you can plan properly and maybe even ask if they can help with translation if needed.
