Enlarged Cisterna Magna

Question

Hi! I’m a first time mom. Nagpa CAS ultrasound ako at 26 weeks. All normal except enlarged cisterna magna measuring 11mm, normal ay hanggang 10mm lang. Pag lalong lumaki, worst case scenario ay magkaron ng hydrocephalus si baby. Advise ng sonologist to consult perinatology. Bumalik ako sa OB ko kanina at for perinatology consult ako on Nov 5.Sino po sainyo naka experience ng the same scenario? Kumusta po ngayon ang baby ninyo? Also, what to expect po sa perinatology consult? I’m anxious palagi pero nilalakasan ko loob ko for my baby and husband. Thank you in advance sa mga sasagot 🩵

Aw mama, I can feel your worry through your message, that 1mm difference must be keeping you up at night, pero please know na maraming cases na ganito lang nag-resolve beautifully on their own, so hold onto that hope. A few of my mum friends had similar scares during pregnancy (one had borderline findings din), and honestly the perinatology consult will give you real answers and a clear plan, which is so much better than the "what-ifs" running in your head right now. During the consult, expect them to do detailed measurements, maybe another detailed ultrasound, and they'll explain exactly what it means for your baby and what monitoring you'll need going forward, they're really thorough kaya you'll walk out feeling more informed at less in the dark. Be honest with the perinatologist about your anxieties too, because they can also help ease your mind if there's nothing to worry about. Praying hard for your baby, mama, you're doing everything right by following up and getting the specialist's opinion
