How does your child sit on the plane if she’s too big for the bassinet but we did not get her a seat

Hi, I’m bringing my 19mth old daughter overseas soon and realised that she’s a little too big for the bassinet that’s provided for her. But be a we bought tickets very early on, we did not buy a seat for her. Any mummy encountered this and how did your child sit throughout the flight?

I brought my girl at 18m (she’s petite and able to fit into bassinet but only willing to stay inside for awhile). Most of the time she will sit on me facing outwards (they will provide another seat belt for baby to attach to your seat belt for take off and landing).
