I'd definitely bring this up with your O&G at your next appointment, because every case is a bit different and they'll know your exact situation better than anyone else. My friend had something similar and her doctor was quite strict about keeping her resting at home rather than going back to work straight away, but it really depends on how low the placenta is sitting and whether there are any other risk factors. Since you've been cleared of bleeding that's a good sign, but low lying placenta can be unpredictable, so it might be worth asking your doctor specifically about returning to work rather than just going by the 2 weeks medical leave they gave you. Better to err on the side of caution at this stage of pregnancy, especially since your colleague's advice makes sense - most doctors do prefer mums with low lying placenta to rest more. Hope the placenta migrates up for you soon.

I had low lying placenta with spotting before too 🥺 Honestly different gynaes give different advice depending on how low the placenta is, amount of bleeding, and your job scope. Some are okay with returning to work if bleeding stopped, others prefer strict rest especially if there was an admission already. Brown spotting usually means old blood, but with placenta issues it’s still something to take seriously. Personally I’d take it easy even after discharge — avoid heavy lifting, long walking, standing too long, sex, etc until your next review 😅 Most importantly monitor for fresh red bleeding, cramps or tightening. If your work is physically tiring/stressful maybe worth discussing extension of HL with your gynae 🙏🏻
