in help with biting nipple while breastfeeding

hi all , i really need help. my lil one love biting my nipple while breastfeeding any suggestions how to make them stop biting my nipple. i would give my lil one formula but she has refuse bottle since she’s newborn #pleasehelp

Oh, I totally feel you, that biting stage is so painful and stressful, especially when your baby won't take a bottle! A few things that seemed to help mums I know: first, stay calm when it happens (hard, I know!) and gently unlatch her with your finger straight away, then offer a teething toy instead so she learns biting leads to the end of the feed, not more breast. My neighbour also mentioned keeping the nipple area clean with diluted saltwater if the skin breaks, since broken skin can get infected or lead to thrush, which makes everything worse. Some mums found that reducing distractions during feeds helped a lot too, biting sometimes happens when baby is distracted or just not that hungry anymore, so staying engaged with eye contact can keep her focused on feeding properly rather than treating it like a game. That said, it's really worth checking with a lactation consultant or your PD just to make sure the latch is right and to rule out anything else going on, they can give advice tailored to your little one.
