Amlactin Lotion

Question

Hi, I am a mom of 18months old baby and exclusively breastfeeding. After I gave birth last oct 2020, i got keratosis pilaris and some itchy strawberry like patches in my legs. I searched for a topical remedy and it resulted to Amlactin. I am using it now for 2 days. It really has a strong ammonium scent. Is it safe to use even if i am breastfeeding? Ay, I totally get your concern kasi ang ammonium smell talaga is strong! Honestly though, for something you're putting on your skin while breastfeeding, mas safe na i-double-check with your OB or pediatrician lang, they can tell you if it's okay para sa baby through your milk or hindi, especially since it's a chemical product na hindi ko familiar kung safe talaga. A few of us moms try to stick with gentler creams lang during breastfeeding para sa peace of mind, pero your doctor will know best based on the actual ingredients! Hope you get clarity soon, mama, keratosis pilaris is annoying enough without the worry!
