Aiyoh I really feel you on this, the uncertainty during pregnancy already so stressful, last thing you want is to worry about your ward too! My friend Joanna went for her elective C-sec at KKH and she said the Class A1 single-bed ward is not 100% guaranteed, it depends on availability at the time, so she actually called the hospital quite early to confirm and get it locked in before her scheduled date. Someone in my mum WhatsApp group also mentioned that it's better to liaise directly with your gynae's clinic to flag your preference early, because they can help note it down and follow up on your behalf. Some mums in my group were very happy with the single ward experience and said the recovery felt so much more peaceful and restful, but a couple of them did share that on very busy days the ward situation can be a bit unpredictable lah. So my two cents, just check in with your gynae or the hospital admin team early and keep following up, don't assume it's automatically settled!
