Question

I just gave birth and my OB wasnt able to attend to my delivery dahil nagka emergency sya. So another OB attended to me during my delivery. During labor, my OB is being updated and consulted of my status.Nung discharge day na from hospital, the payment was made directly thru bank online transfer to the OBs. I was also charged twice of OBs fee. One for the OB which was not able to attend to me, and one for the OB who assisted me during delivery. I was also charged for Anesthesiologist, 50% of the total OBs payment.Question, mommies:Ganun ba talaga, na hindi kasama sa hospital bill ang fee ng OB and it is settled thru personal bank transfer with them?Also, tama ba na dalawang OB fee binayaran ko?Thank you, Mommies!!!

Ay, nakakainnovate talaga ang setup na yan! From what I know, most hospitals do include OB fees sa overall hospital bill, but some arrangements, especially kung may complications or if another doctor had to step in, pwedeng ma-settle separately through bank transfer para mas organized ang payment between you and the doctor directly. About the double OB fee though, that's where it gets tricky, a few of us moms have encountered similar situations, and honestly, it depends on kung paano nila na-structure ang billing, pero usually dapat lang na may clear breakdown kung sino ang attending doctor and sino ang consultant lang. I'd suggest asking the hospital's billing department for an itemized breakdown of exactly who charged what and why, it's your right to understand every single charge, especially sa delivery na yon! If something doesn't add up, you can always request a meeting with the billing department or even the doctors to clarify before you fully process the payment.
