Covid during pregnancy

Hi, my husband recently gotten Covid 6 days ago and i have tested negative 2 days ago. We have been isolating from each other for 1 week yet i still tested positive today. My symptoms are as mild as itchy throat and stuff nose. Just wondering if it will affect my fetus as im currently in my 2nd trimester and I have a glucose test and prenatal appointment next week, should i postpone? #firsttimemom #AskingAsAMom

Hey, I totally understand the worry, but honestly, the good news is that most mums I know who caught Covid in the second trimester had straightforward pregnancies and healthy babies, so try not to stress too much. That said, a few people did mention their babies were on the smaller side, though it wasn't always clear if that was Covid-related or just how their babies were meant to be. Since your symptoms are really mild (itchy throat and stuffy nose sound like you've got this), that's actually a positive sign. For your glucose test and prenatal appointment next week, I'd give your clinic a call and be honest about testing positive today. Most places will want to know, and they might reschedule you just to be safe, or they might say it's fine to come in with precautions. Either way, they'll know best what works for their setup. In the meantime, rest up, stay hydrated, and don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor if anything feels off, second trimester Covid cases are generally mild like yours, but your own specialist knows your full picture best and can give you the most reassuring answer.
