Episotomy a.k.a the cut. How was yours? Especially for those who went subsidized route

How was your episotomy stitching? Was it done well? Any issues when healing? For those who went subsidized route and didnt pick ur gynae, did the junior doctors do a good job stitching? Im worried abt bad stitching which affects healing, the pain and worried abt affecting daily life afterwards #firsttimemom #advicepls

I went subsidized at KKH and didn't get to pick my gynae either, so I totally understand the worry. The stitching was done by the team on duty, and honestly the healing was fine for me, a bit uncomfortable the first week or so but nothing that affected daily life badly after that. It's worth knowing that junior doctors always have a senior supervising, so it's not like you're left entirely to someone inexperienced. That said, everyone heals differently, so if you have specific concerns about your recovery afterwards, do bring it up with your gynae or midwife team before or after delivery so they know to take extra care.
