hi, i know it can be a little difficult to breastfeed baby in case of a cleft lip, but there are certain things that can help. 1. make sure you hold your nipple in your finger and place it in baby's mouth, and keep maintaining this position throughout. 2. another alternative is to pump the milk and feed through the bottle, but only if your baby is unable to feed at the breast at all. 3. you can visit a lactation expert who will guide you for the initial few weeks till your baby gets comfortable at suckling from the breast. please take a look at the following sites to look at some info that could help http://www.cleftline.org/parents-individuals/publications/what-about-breastfeeding/ https://www.verywell.com/breastfeeding-cleft-lip-or-palate-431654 https://breastfeedingusa.org/content/article/breastfeeding-baby-cleft-lip-and-or-palate-red-carpet-treatment

Hi You can perhaps help assisting the nipple in the baby's mouth and press it inside. Hold the nipple throughout till the time baby is suckling. Else litlle milk may keep drippingout of his mouth.
