How do you handle titos/titas/lolos/lolas who use bribery to get your kid to do stuff? Eg. "Gusto mo ng chocolate? Kiss tita muna."
When this happens,i worry that the kids will exceed their daily sugar allowance so what I do is I don't interrupt their conversation but I just join in and politely say to any of my kids to give me the treat first so I can open it for them. Then I'll start controlling their consumption of it. That way,I'm not being rude and at the same time,It prevents the kids getting mad at me. When they do this during times that are not in accordance with my daily schedule of activities for the kids(like during nap time or study time), I just honestly tell them that it's time for the kids to do something and suggest for it to continue later or tomorrow instead. I figured, If I just keep my mouth closed about this, I'm putting the kids' welfare at risk. What's maddening about this kind of situation, btw, is when we just agree and then something bad happens to the child, we are to be solely blamed..

I do felt worried at times like this. But I think it is much better than just giving them all they want without doing anything in return. That's how children becomes spoiled most of the times.
I asked my husband to tell his parents and siblings not to kiss our baby in the face, They can only kiss in hands and feet.
Kami, if we hear that, nag bu-butt in kami and we tell our child to "bless na lang kay tita".
We're very vocal in telling our relatives not to kiss nor ask our baby to kiss them.
