I am one of those grown ups who still gets the chills with the thought of mathematics. And in fact, that's what made me help my kids love maths! I'll give you some very simple examples. From the early toddler years, you can start introducing your little one to mathematics using easy play methods. Count the number of magnets on the fridge door, count the fingers and toes, then close a few fingers and see how many are left, make it an everyday habit of counting, adding and subtracting through play and singing number rhymes and songs, and soon your toddler will look at maths as a natural way of learning :)
Agree with the answer above. Make it a habit. Ask questions that relate to counting e.g., how many birds do you see, how many crayons are there in the box? Which stick is bigger, who is taller? Questions like this make mathematics a native language for the kid.
