First, don’t stress too much — you're not the first mom to unknowingly take medication during the early stages of pregnancy. Mefenamic acid isn’t typically recommended during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, but since you didn’t know, it’s understandable. What’s most important now is to reach out to your OB. They’ll help assess any potential risks and monitor your pregnancy closely. Chances are, your doctor will want to do an ultrasound or some checks to ensure your baby is doing well. Just follow their guidance from here on out, and everything should be okay.
Try not to panic just yet. Mefenamic acid (a pain reliever) is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the early stages, as it can affect the development of the baby. Since you weren’t aware that you were pregnant during those weeks, the best thing to do now is to talk to your OB as soon as possible. They’ll assess the situation and may suggest an ultrasound or other tests to make sure everything is okay with your baby. Most importantly, you're taking the right step by seeking advice, so your doctor will guide you through it.
Since you didn’t know you were pregnant, it’s understandable that you took the mefenamic acid. The good news is that many women unknowingly take medications in the early stages, and most of the time, things turn out okay. It’s important to talk to your OB now, though, so they can make sure everything is progressing normally. They might do an ultrasound or additional tests to monitor your baby’s health. You’re doing the right thing by asking questions and getting guidance, so just take it one step at a time!
Mom, did you mean 27 or 37 weeks? 40 weeks max lang po ang pregnancy hehe! Anyway, have you asked your OB regarding this na po? I would advise going to your OB na po kasi may risks po ang mefenamic sa buntis, and di dapat siya i-take without their recommendation. I understand po na you didn't know you were pregnant when you took it. Go nalang po agad kayo sa OB! Rooting for your pregnancy, momma!
