4 month baby gg 5 month stop babble
Hihi mummies I would like to enquire it is normal for a baby to stop babbling much at gg 5 months ? But she teething a lot n start to crawl n grab her feet all le n flip a lot

Oh don't worry too much, from what I've heard, it's actually quite common for babies to go quiet on the babbling when they're teething or suddenly picking up a bunch of new physical skills at the same time, like your girl flipping and grabbing her feet! My neighbour noticed the same thing with her baby around that age, and her paediatrician told her that when babies are pouring all their energy into new milestones, the babbling can take a little backseat for a while before it comes back again. Honestly I'll be real with you, it can feel a bit unsettling when something they were doing just stops, but the drooling and mouthing everything is such a classic teething sign, and that discomfort alone can make them less chatty. Most mums I've spoken to said the babbling returned once the teething settled down a little. That said, since every baby is different, it's still worth mentioning it at your next PD visit just so you have peace of mind from someone who can actually assess her properly!
