I gave birth at KKH subsidised ward, and honestly it was a really good experience, the staff were attentive and my husband was with me the whole time, even during triage, so I'm not sure where that rumour comes from. That said, some mums I know who've delivered at both KKH and NUH swear by NUH's hospitality and care; a couple mentioned they felt the ward experience was warmer there, though it probably depends on timing and which nurses you get. Both are solid choices under subsidy if you book early, just get your polyclinic referral sorted and you should be fine. The main thing is that you'll be well looked after either way, so I wouldn't stress too much about choosing between them; it's more about which one has availability when you need it!
I gave birth at KKH under the subsidised route and also had a great one. to be honest, its really about the exception. I heard alot on the long waiting hours, but thru out my whole pregnancy, the wait was ok, as long as u are not late for your appt. They won't scan every appt, so if u want, den hav to request and pay for it. u will see different doctor at every appt, which I think its good cos I can have different views on things. So it really depends on what u want and ur expectations
