I used a finger prick glucometer during my own GDM journey and it was honestly not as bad as I feared, but I totally understand the anxiety around it, and Freestyle Libre is a real option some mums do use for continuous glucose monitoring without the daily pricking. The trade-off is that the Libre tends to cost more and your specialist may still have a preferred protocol they want you to follow, so it is worth raising it directly with them at your first appointment. I would bring it up with the specialist or whoever is managing your GDM, because they can advise whether it is suitable for your situation and whether it is something you can get through KKH or a private clinic.
