FTM + GDM, Plan Bersalin Swasta

Hai! Congrats on your pregnancy! Yes, boleh je nak bersalin swasta even with GDM, banyak mums do this. But the key thing is, since GDM is considered high-risk, most hospitals (both private and government) will require you to follow up at KK as well throughout your pregnancy, especially towards the end. So it's not either-or, but more like both-both situation. Best approach is to inform your chosen private hospital early on about your GDM status and that you're registered at KK, they'll coordinate with KK for your records and specialist care. Register with your private hospital once confirmed pregnant (can be 8-12 weeks, depends on the hospital), but do keep your KK appointments too because they'll likely want to monitor you there as well, especially closer to delivery. Something someone in my mum group mentioned, a few mums started follow-up at private clinics early on but ended up having to refer back to KK near the end because of the high-risk status, so just go in prepared that you might need both pathways. Worth clarifying with your private hospital and KK doctor upfront about how they'll manage your case together, saves confusion later!

Meee 🙋‍♀️ My 1st pregnancy was GDM on diet, mild anemia, GBS positive and green sticker. Masa 1st appointment buka buku di KK, saya terus inform nurse in charge nak bersalin swasta. So nurse dah take note dan beritahu yang anytime nak transfer check up di swasta, bagitau je. Jadi saya tutup buku pink KK masa 20 weeks dan proceed dengan check up di hospital swasta sampai bersalin. So step untuk awak 1) Cari hospital swasta yang boleh cater pregnancy risk awak dan baca procedure & TnC. Macam hospital swasta yang saya bersalin tu required 3x check up untuk bersalin situ. Tapi saya pergi awal. 2) Inform nurse in charge yang awak nak bersalin swasta. Nanti nurse minta nama hospital dan kena sign satu borang untuk tutup buku pink KK. Atau boleh pilih untuk buat double check up KK & swasta sampai bersalin.
