Solid soon - any tips?
Hi. First time mom here. Bb starting solid soon. Any recco? E.g. fruits or vegs first and why? Also how many times should bb eat solid in a day? Is it replacing one of the milk intake?
Hello! My baby is also starting soon and this is my plan :) I'm not doing baby led weaning until some of his teeth grow out btw! Will be focusing on feeding purées and letting him touch some of the foods. - start with orange vegetables (sweet potato, carrot, pumpkin), green vegetables (broccoli, peas) then fruits (avocado, apple, strawberries) - I'm a bit anxious about starting so in the first week I'll only be introducing one food at a time - second week onwards I'm hoping to start putting 2 foods at a time and gradually introducing allergens to safe foods that he has already tasted - paediatrician has told me to introduce solids in second feed of the day - I'm likely going to try feeding a smaller amount of milk (e.g. 90ml instead of usual 150ml) and then give solids after that, so he isn't experimenting with solids when his basic needs aren't even met - remember to introduce allergens 2-3 days in a row to see if any reactions But I don't think there's one right way haha do what you feel comfortable to!! :")
Read moreI read that you should introduce vege first cos its not sweet like fruits. And starting, once a day, about 4 tablespoons(?) and no, it does not replace one milk intake. Milk should still be the main source of food till 1 years old. I may or may not be wrong! But do your research :-)
