Uncomfortable at night

Hi fellow mummies, I'm at wk13 now and I get uncomfortable and my appetite became smaller as the day goes nearer to night. Anybody experience the same thing and how do yall manage that? I get occasional headaches and shoulder aches too 🥲

Ah, week 13 is such a transition point! The decreased appetite towards evening is quite common actually, some of my friends found that their digestion just slows down as the day wears on, and the hormonal shifts can make you feel fuller faster. A few mums I know swear by eating smaller, lighter meals in the evening instead of trying to have a big dinner, and staying really hydrated throughout the day seems to help with both the appetite dip and the headaches. For the shoulder ache and general discomfort at night, sleeping on your side is meant to be the sweet spot during pregnancy, it really does take the pressure off. Someone in my mum group mentioned that a pregnancy pillow made a huge difference for her around this time too, especially for supporting the bump and keeping her spine aligned. The occasional headaches and shoulder tension might also ease once you nail the sleeping position, but if they're persistent or getting worse, definitely worth flagging with your doctor or clinic just to make sure everything's on track. You're doing great though, these niggles usually settle as you move past the first trimester!
