18:18 Yes bronchitis can be contagious lah, especially if it's caused by a viral infection which is the most common cause in babies! The virus can spread through droplets when the sick person coughs or sneezes, or through touching contaminated surfaces and then touching eyes, nose or mouth, so do practice good hygiene like washing hands frequently and avoid bringing baby to crowded places while they are sick. But once baby is recovering and fever is gone usually the contagious period is reducing already, just make sure to keep other young children and elderly family members away from baby first until fully recovered, and if baby's cough is getting worse, breathing looks laboured, or lips look bluish then please bring to KKH A&E immediately and don't wait!

Bronchitis can be caused by either a virus or bacteria, so whether it spreads really depends on what's behind it. Viral bronchitis tends to be more contagious since the underlying virus can pass to others, while bacterial bronchitis is generally less so. Since it's your baby we're talking about, it's worth checking with your PD to find out the exact cause, and they can also advise on precautions around older kids or family members at home. Better to get clarity from the doctor than to guess, just to keep everyone safe.
