Aiyo congrats on your pregnancy, 26 weeks already, so exciting! My neighbour just delivered at KKH last year and she said the doctors and nurses very patient and professional lah, especially since they're a specialist women's and children's hospital so you know they very well-equipped for anything unexpected. Someone in my mums WhatsApp group mentioned Dr. Manisha Mathur at KKH and said the experience with her was really amazing, so if you can, maybe try to get a good doctor assigned to you there! On the other hand, my colleague switched to NUH for her second baby and she said NUH feels more pro-natural birth, like the doctors there less likely to intervene or do unnecessary scans, whereas KKH tends to do more regular monthly scans which some mummies love for the peace of mind but others find a bit extra. Both hospitals for normal delivery come up to around $11K or so at subsidised rates, so cost-wise not much difference between the two lah. Honestly both are solid choices and most mummies I know had good experiences, just depends whether you prefer KKH's more high-tech, scan-everything approach or NUH's more natural, hands-off style!
I delivered at KKH and honestly the experience was really good — the midwives were attentive and I felt well taken care of throughout my labour. Since you're already with KKH at 26 weeks, it might be less stressful to just stay rather than go through the hassle of transferring your records and rebooking everything lah. A friend of mine delivered at NUH and she said it was also a positive experience, so both are really solid options! Ultimately both are restructured hospitals with experienced teams, so you're in good hands either way. 😊
Kkh doctors deliver the most babies among all hospital here in SG. Hence i believe they are the most experienced out of all obgyn here in my two cents. So every doctor there is good :)
